who's sane?

The past couple of days, Bangaloreans have witnessed tension, anxiety. The reason? well I wish there was a good enough reason but as usual its trivial matters that have set the city ablaze!!!! People once again are indulging in a fight to prove whose religion is far more supreme....and needless to say our ever reliable politicians are only adding fuel to the fire or should I say they have started this fire..when will people stop being manipulated by the demagogues in our society who unfortunately get treated like Demi-gods!!!
All the pictures and images of riots of this nature lead us to the undeniable question. What will it take to stop people from turning so fanatic and mindless? The timeless answer is ' Knowledge or education'. How many of you remember seeing a educated man or woman acting like a goon on the streets when these riots kick off? Its only a bunch of losers that you get you see. People who are so frustrated in life at their own failure and worse at other people's success participate in such activities. They are so infuriated at their loss to live the lavish or even comfortable life that they use trivial rumors to satiate their vengence.
I wonder if even for a moment they stop to think if they themselves are not the reason for their melancholy. I mean their failure to get themselves educated has left them at the doorsteps of poverty. They may argue that their poverty in the first place denied them of a right of education. But the counter argument is if some people studied under the street lights, with borrowed books and featured as the greatest intellect I am sure all of us can do it. Its just a question of being motivated and determined. So poverty is no excuse for lack of knowledge.
We can never hope to be recognised as a liberal, intellectual country as long as we indulge in such acts of pettiness, as long as we are driven by our personal frustration. One look around and I cannot help but comment 'who's sane'.......maybe at some point of time we all get carried away by our insanities and when our feet hit the ground again we would have lost enough wealth, friends and built good number of foes to sparkle another riot soon!!!

The various events, situations that I come across makes me wonder time and again if we are heading backwards or we are leading our lives with reverse gear....Tolerance for differences in society seems to be diminishing with each passing day. It is a common sight to see communities or people of a particular idealism or philosophy forming clusters. It would have been a positive trend had this cluster formation found its source in the concept of tolerance or brotherhood. My apprehension steps from the fear that these clusters are grounded in fanaticism and with a passion to eliminate all that does not agree with their idealism. But the bigger question is what in the first place has led to this kind of clusters to be formed? why is everyone talking of some sect of the society being responsible for terror acts? why only some people are labelled as antisocial and threat to world peace? Maybe the developed nations need to look within themselves for answers to these questions!!! The fire that seems to be engulfing them was started in their own pursuit of power and dirty game of politics. Its like saying I will plant parthenium and expect it to give fresh air...would that ever be possible. Its time people wake up and work towards eliminating the root cause than just targeting people causing it. The countries that fuelled this seed of hatred need to do something fast....its not that people take up arms for a voccation because it pumps up their adrenaline, they do so in utter frustration. What we all need to work towards is create a situation that prevents this frustration or not to let it grow further than what it has, that only means bringing the not so fortunate on par with the intellect of the developed economies so that they channelise this new found knowledge towards constructive planning and growth and not towards destructive radical behaviour!!!
